Alpine Kaltbach



A firm pressed, deliciously smooth, swiss mountain cheese made using the finest fresh swiss cream and fresh cow’s milk. Semi-firm in texture, the thick, brushed rind cheese is matured in the humid, cool temperatures of the Kaltbach sandstone caves for around 4-5 months, which results in a rich, full melt-in-the-mouth flavour. Kaltbach has slightly nutty flavours running through it and is a delicious alternative to Gruyere when cooking.

The Kaltbach story is innately Swiss, beginning at a site of natural splendour: the Kaltbach cave, which lies within the Santenberg sandstone mountain. Kaltbach is an irresistibly smooth masterpiece and will allure you with its extra portion of the finest swiss cream. It is allowed to mature in the sandstone cave and this is something you can taste. Kaltback is so soft and smooth that is practically melts in the mouth.

Delivery Information

All orders must be received by 4:00 pm on Mondays (excluding Bank Holidays) and your order will be dispatched on Tuesday for you to receive on Wednesday.

All orders are delivered by DPD, your cheese is cut fresh to order wrapped and packed by hand. If you provide a mobile number or E-mail address when you place your cheese order, DPD will send you your delivery time so you know exactly when to expect it. All of our parcels are on strict instruction to be left safe or with a neighbour if the customer is out.

On arrival of your cheese, open the box, removes the ice pack (included in the box in warmer months) and put your cuts of cheese in the fridge.

Returns & Refunds

Returns are accepted only if the goods are damaged. You must inform us within 24 hours from receipt by email or phone. We may request you return the item(s) to us in original, complete and undamaged packaging. If the item has not been returned to us in the original condition, we reserve the right to refuse a refund on the item. All returned goods must be accompanied by the delivery slip that accompanied the consignment.

In the case of damaged, faulty or goods mistakenly shipped, a receipt for the return postage should be included within the package for the cost to be refunded.


We try to keep all our packaging to a minimum. Your cheese will be wrapped in a thin piece of Finoplas, this is an essential part of keeping the cheese fresh as it stops the cheese from drying out and allows it to breathe. Then it is put in a waxed paper bag. The cheese will be sent out in a recyclable cardboard box, an ice pack in the summer months. 


All our cheeses are freshly cut by hand, while we endeavour to be accurate it isn't alway's possible, so if one piece is a little small we will make it up on another piece.
